Mother May I Hummus
Labneh
Simple. Smooth. And oh so tasty. This dish is a close relative of the hummus family. Pronounced LAB-NEH or LAB-NAH, it is very diverse in how it is consumed. You can bake it, cook it, spread it AND dip it! Rare for a dish to carry so many unique properties, and all SO flavorful. Made from milk, this dish is ancient and still a main component of the Mediterranean diet. This dairy-based yogurt has all the whey drained, curating a thick, creamy tangy flavor. How to consume? Think of anything you are using cream cheese or peanut butter for and substitute for this traditional whipped wonder. Once you dip in, you will have Labneh as a permanent staple in your fridge.
