Highwood Crossing

Before there were bridges or paved roads, there was Highwood Crossing. Back then, it didn’t refer to a company. Instead, it referred to a shallow, narrow portion of the Highwood River that travelers could easily cross on their journey. The world has changed since then, but in many ways, Highwood Crossing remains the same. Since 1989, the family farm has used organic farming methods and sustainable agricultural practices to produce their grains and legumes. They’ve also expanded to offer their own products, including cold-pressed canola and flax oils. Highwood Crossing’s dedication to great-tasting organic food has earned them many followers over the years. In 2014, they were named Canadian Food Heroes at the national Slow Food Canada conference, and Avenue Magazine listed Highwood Crossing Organic Granola as one of the “Twenty Best Things to Eat” in Calgary. Now it’s your chance to see what all the fanfare is about.
